No matter what sport you compete in, all athletes are striving to be their very best. Some will develop quickly physically, mentally and in skill, and some will take time.
No matter which athlete you are, there will come a time that you will need to take action increase your physical capabilities to keep up with and overcome the ever-increasing physical demands of your sport and those you compete against.
Athletes around you are getting bigger, faster and stronger. If you do not train to meet the physical demands of your sport, you will quickly notice yourself getting slower, loosing contests, unable to overcome contact and will increase your risk for non-contact and contact injuries.
This being said, generic gym programs will not help to increase your personal capabilities. Therefore, it is imperative a program that is sport specific and individualised to increase your performance and help you to overcome the demands of your chosen sport.
